Specialized press shared reviews of the ports of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village on Nintendo Switch 2. They will be released on the hybrid console on February 27, along with Resident Evil Requiem.
Judging by the scores, Capcom managed to make quality ports and deliver horror games to Nintendo fans that were previously only available on Switch in the “cloud” with many issues.
- Resident Evil Village (Gold Edition) — 79 points
- Resident Evil 7 (Gold Edition) — 86 points
Journalists call the seventh installment the "culmination" of the series in terms of horror.
In the case of Resident Evil Village, the average press score was lower due to the technical state — the frame rate cannot boast stability because of the horror’s “ambition.” Village also has problems in portable mode, and overall the game’s performance on Switch 2 is worse than in the Resident Evil 7 port.
Along with the reviews, other videos appeared online. For example, enthusiasts compared the “cloud” version of Resident Evil 7 on Switch with the native edition for Switch 2. The difference in lighting immediately catches the eye, but overall players have two main complaints specifically about the “cloud” — input delay and screen tearing due to unstable connection.
