In Genshin Impact version 6.5 Mondstadt will expand and add a winged boss
About time: Mondstadt's map pushes northward in the next Genshin Impact patch. The HoYoverse team shared a live rundown of what’s coming. Version 6.5 — "Luna VI. Song of the Hollow Moon: Rondo — The Predicted Meeting" — drops on April 8.
Below is the most interesting information from the stream:
Characters and weapons
- Geo archer Linnea (5 stars) — first half of the update.
- Anemo archer Chaska (5 stars) — first half of the update.
- Dendro catalyst Lauma (5 stars) — second half of the update.
- Dendro catalyst Nefer (5 stars) — second half of the update.
On the weapon side, a new five-star bow called “Golden Ice Oath” appears, packing a crit damage stat. The banner will also let you pull signature weapons from other five-star picks of the version.
The Chronicles banner returns, and for the first time it reaches into Fontaine — so expect Navia, Clorinda, Sijwin and other Hydro Archon-related faces to show up there. Fontaine-themed weapons appear alongside them.
A closer look at Linnea: she’s billed as an Adventurers' Guild consultant, but plot twist — she isn’t human; she’s an alvus from Snezhnaya (like Flins). Mechanically, she changes how Lunar Crystal interactions play out. By calling her companion Lumi, Linnea both boosts Lunar Crystal damage and reduces enemies’ Geo RES, and she can convert Hydro Crystal and Geo Crystal results into Lunar Crystal ones (i.e., she reroutes reactions for new combos). For those who like experimental team comps, that opens options — esp. for weird Lunar Crystal builds.
Her elemental skill alternates between an off-field Geo DPS source and a single, hefty Lunar Crystal hit. The burst heals the party and puts Lumi on the ground to keep supporting the team. Outside combat she’s handy: better at catching small animals and, thanks to Lumi’s hammer, ore gathering gets easier.
Quests and activities
- Brambleport, north of Cider Lake, is a new zone. Once just a watch point, it’s now grown into one of the region’s key trading harbors.
- Perched on Wind’s Peak behind Brambleport is the odd Temple of Space — a vault of shards forged by Asmodeus, the sky/cosmos ruler. Inside you’ll find rooms that riff on ancient Liyue and Sumeru, plus mashups of several cultures; explore the temple and bits of the Goddess of Space’s story unfold as you go.
- The new Legends quest pulls back Linnea’s curtain: her past, ties to the Shell gang (orphans from Nashgorod), and more. There’s also a tourney called “Contest of the Spirit Envoys” to take part in.
- Nod’s Realm hosts a trade fair where Travelers must untangle disputes stoked by powerful merchants. Expect familiar faces, booths (Aino’s battle simulator among them), and the Pneumusia device — a Fontaine Research Institute project you can try. Complete the related tasks and conditions, and you might snag Yagoda as a party invite.
- In Fontaine there’s a short-clip contest; in Mondstadt the Miki’s Cartographic Search challenge returns.
- Near Brambleport lurks a new elite: the Spectator — the Fallen Guardian. It’s got space-themed moves, so don’t assume standard strategies will cut it.
- The Astral Realm sees some editor-friendly updates: larger main hall capacity, a new VFX tool, and expanded skill/creator menu editing. In practice, these tweaks speed up scene work and offer more control for creators (e.g., less fiddling, more tweaking).
