Fallout 4 for Switch 2 Added DLSS Support

The Fallout 4 build for Nintendo Switch 2 received a fresh update — a grab-bag of fixes, tweaks and quality-of-life patches. Check the full list of changes below.

DLSS Support

  • NVIDIA DLSS is now available for the 40-fps and 60-fps modes; depending on the scene it can favor crisper frames or steadier performance.
  • DLSS will auto-disable on UI-dense screens (e.g., the Pip-Boy) so text and interface elements stay readable.

Stability

  • Several crashes that interrupted ordinary play sessions have been addressed.
  • Crashes that occurred during save/overwrite operations are fixed.
  • Loading certain autosaves created at specific main-quest points no longer causes a crash.
  • Crashes that could happen when connecting or disconnecting the console from the dock during gameplay are resolved.
  • Memory handling has been adjusted to reduce instability during long playtimes.

Performance and Graphics

  • Environment flicker and lighting glitches in some interiors and under particular weather conditions were fixed.
  • Missing or incorrect effects — water puddles, bullet holes, blood splashes, surface decals, terrain textures — have been corrected.
  • Scrolling weapons on workbenches feels visually more stable now.

Interface and Menus

  • The missing button icons in the trading menu have been restored.
  • HUD elements now respect transparency settings consistently.
  • Visual artifacts that showed up when reading notes/journals at high frame rates have been removed.
  • Frame rate behavior when switching between docked and handheld modes has been improved.
  • Cases where interface text or icons rendered incorrectly in certain languages are fixed.

Saving and Loading

  • Occasional issues that made the load menu inaccessible have been fixed.
  • Save files now update with the correct location names.
  • Saves reliably write when exiting to the main menu.
  • Stability near the save limit has been improved to avoid erratic behavior as save counts grow.

Controls and Input

  • Interaction between Joy-Con and wireless controllers when switching has been smoothed out.
  • Inputs now recover properly after controller resync messages, fixing cases where controls stayed unresponsive.

Localizations

  • Missing or incorrect characters in the crafting menu for Japanese and Traditional Chinese were corrected.
  • Font handling and text readability across supported languages have been improved.
  • The system keyboard accepts a wider range of characters for custom character and item names.

Quests and Gameplay

  • Rare bugs where NPCs would disappear or stop responding have been fixed.
  • Environmental triggers and quest-related visual effects behave more consistently.
