Fable Returns — First Gameplay, Albion, and Multi-Platform Release
The long wait is over — at the January 2026 Xbox Developer Direct, Playground Games finally presented the first full gameplay overview of the new Fable. The developers confirmed that the game will be released in the fall of 2026.
The main surprise was the platform list. Contrary to expectations of full exclusivity, Fable is officially announced not only for Xbox Series X/S and PC (including Steam) but also for PlayStation 5.
What did the developers promise us? A true open world of Albion, a flexible combat system, the presence of morality and reputation mechanics, as well as a full-fledged life simulation with over 1000 unique NPCs, each of whom you can talk to. The exact release date for the game is not specified.
