The Hysteria Will Now Be Not Only with "Ninka" but Also with Pocketpair: Announced Full Clone of Palworld — Pickmon

The Steam page for Pickmon showed up recently and promptly kicked off a fair bit of online uproar. Some folks reacted with disbelief, others with mockery; whatever the tone, the conversation isn’t about calm curiosity.

The studio calls the game an open-world adventure with survival bits and monster-catching at its core. Players, though, have been loudly accusing the team of borrowing — not subtly, but in broad daylight — from two very familiar sources: Pokemon and Palworld. The complaints read like a checklist of inspirations, and not everyone is amused.

Gameplay-wise you won’t find anything wildly new: roam, snag creatures, pit them against each other. The twist here is that capturing comes via cards (e.g., not Pokeballs), which the devs pitch as a creative spin. Still, it’s the look-and-feel that’s drawn the most flak — visuals are where many players draw the line.

And then there’s the protagonist. His outfit and silhouette scream Hyrule — yes, i.e., very Link-ish — and one trailer shot of a sky-drop does a near-perfect callback to Tears of the Kingdom. For many viewers, those echoes are harder to shrug off than any gameplay resemblance.
