The review aggregator Metacritic shared a list of the twenty highest-rated PC games for 2025. Similar lists for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch were published earlier.
The criteria for making the top 20 have not changed: a release between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and at least seven reviews from professional critics. User ratings were not considered in the compilation.
In first place is Hades II, two points ahead of the nearest competitor Blue Prince. Closing the top three is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which took first place in a similar list for PlayStation and second in the Xbox list.
The list also includes two former Sony console exclusives: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
