Grounded 2 Receives The Toxic Tangle Update with an Overgrown Garden and Rideable Ladybugs
Obsidian Entertainment and Eidos-Montréal have released the first major update for the adventure survival game Grounded 2. Titled The Toxic Tangle, it adds the following to the game:
- The Overgrown Garden — a new biome with vertical exploration, caches, and unexpected inhabitants. Players will be able to explore pumpkin patches, carrot jungles, and other areas;
- Rideable ladybugs equipped with a water cannon. They can also ram into enemies and slowly regenerate their health;
- New threats in the form of earwigs, Colorado potato beetles, and fluffy aphids. Players will also face battles with a masked stranger and a colossal snake;
- Mutation update — now split into active and passive categories;
- Major BUILD.M improvements;
- Garden MIX.R and O.R.C challenges;
- New construction items and cosmetics;
- As well as new resources, weapons, balance fixes, and more.
Grounded 2 has been in early access on PC since July 2025. It quickly surpassed the first game's peak concurrent player count on Steam. The developers have already presented a roadmap with updates for 2026. Support for Russian text translation is still in the "future plans."
