100 Thieves Counter-Strike 2 Manager Sets Grand Goals for the Season
100 Thieves Counter-Strike 2 manager Sean "seang@res" Gares has shared his expectations and plans for the season. He emphasized the importance of the first tournaments and aims to break into the top-20 within six months.
On social media, Gares wrote: "My boss's expectations are more relaxed than mine. My expectations are more targeted; I would like us to achieve a top-20 ranking within six months. Graham (messioso) thinks we can do it in four months..."
In conclusion, the manager emphasized that despite the expectations, he understands they might not be met. Gares noted the importance of the first events for the new roster, as well as the team's cohesion.
The 100 Thieves roster:
- 🇸🇪 Alex "poiii" Sundgren (entry-fragger)
- 🇳🇴 Håvard "rain" Nygaard (captain)
- 🇩🇰 Nicolai "device" Reedtz (sniper)
- 🇩🇰 William "sirah" Kjærsgaard (rifler)
- 🇵🇹 André "Ag1l" Gil (rifler)
- 🇩🇰 Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander (coach)
Previously, the club's head of Counter-Strike 2, Graham "messioso" Pitt, gave a major interview. Pitt emphasized that despite the club's past, the organization will now be positioned as European. All efforts will be focused on advancing to tier-1.
Recall that earlier, the American club 100 Thieves announced its return to the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene under the Roobet tag. The organization left the discipline back in 2020.
Almost immediately after the announcement, it became known that HÃ¥vard "rain" Nygaard from FaZe Clan would officially become a new player for the roster.
Later, the well-known insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov was extremely critical of the transfer of Nicolai "device" Reedtz to 100 Thieves. The analyst stated that this decision by the management completely negates the potential of the future roster. Biryukov believes that signing the 30-year-old sniper is a fatal mistake. Despite the successful start of the roster formation with the arrival of HÃ¥vard "rain" Nygaard and rumors about buying the core of GamerLegion, the transfer of the Dane ruined everything.
The 100 Thieves club was founded in 2017. Until 2020, the team competed in various major events such as: EPL NA, IEM, ESL Cologne, and others. Over that time, it earned over $175,000 in prize money.
The first tournament for the new 100 Thieves lineup will be the open qualifier for IEM Atlanta, which will take place online on February 7-8.
