Official: Ryzen 7 9850X3D to Cost $500
But That's Just the Recommended Price
AMD has officially announced the release date and recommended price for its new gaming processor, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The information was confirmed by AMD Vice President David McAfee, putting an end to rumors and confusion over preliminary store prices, which ranged from 500 to over 700 euros.
The processor, built on 8 cores and 16 threads, features a key improvement—its maximum boost clock speed has been increased to 5.6 GHz, which is 400 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D model. It will hit global retail on January 29 with a recommended price of $499 and will join the lineup of gaming processors featuring 3D V-Cache technology.
Meanwhile, rumors continue to circulate online about the higher-end Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 model. According to leaks, this processor may feature two dies with increased cache, 16 cores, and 192 MB of L3 cache. Its announcement is expected in the summer of 2026.
