World of Horror Receives Major Update and Announces Board Game
Developer panstasz, together with publishers Playism and Ysbryd Games, announced the release of update 1.2 for their survival horror game, World of Horror, titled AS BELOW SO ABOVE.
This large-scale content expansion aims not only to restore unfinished and previously cut content but also to significantly expand the overall scope of the game, increasing its size by approximately 20%.
Two new Old Gods have been added to the game. Furthermore, a completely new location—the Mountains—will appear, featuring hiking trails and environmental hazards. The update brings 60 new events, about 20 new injuries, mutations, and curses, 19 new enemies, and 30 new items.
The update also includes a new storyline about three missing students lost in the forest, featuring multiple endings, unique events, new allies and enemies, as well as secrets, including a way to finally restore the Forest Records and find the Telescope. A new Strange Weather system will also be introduced.
Three new unlockable characters have been added, including the tarot reader Kiriko. Additionally, players can expect 10 new allies and a revamped dialogue system. The user interface has been optimized, and the modding system has been reworked while maintaining full backward compatibility with version 1.0 content.
The update adds 22 new achievements, as well as an improved achievement tracker for easier completion in the future. Additional improvements include cloud saves and Steam achievement support.
Version 1.2 for PC is already in early testing. Localization and porting to consoles are underway to ensure multiplatform compatibility at launch.
Finally, an official board game adaptation has been announced, with pre-orders already available through Lost in Cult. Standard and Deluxe editions are available, with pre-orders for the latter accepted until April 30, 2026. The quantity of standard editions is unlimited.
