After years of courtroom noise — Epic vs. Apple, in short — Fortnite is back on the App Store in almost every country. For now, according to a statement from Epic, the lone exception is Australia. “[In Australia] Epic won a lawsuit against Apple, the court recognized many of Apple's conditions for developers as illegal, yet Apple continues to impose those conditions,” the company wrote. So Australians will need to wait for the legal process to finish before the situation is settled.
The title has reappeared in the Russian App Store as well, but buying items there is awkward: Russian bank cards are not accepted by the system, and the App Store’s mobile-carrier payment option in Russia stopped working in early April. A quick reminder — Apple removed Fortnite from its store in 2020 after Epic introduced a direct-pay route that bypassed the platform holder (i.e., to avoid the 30% commission). The same “window” disappeared from Google Play back then, but it returned in March 2026 — not exactly a tidy ending, more like a long, grumpy detour.
