Filming for the New Resident Evil Film by the Director of "Guns" Has Wrapped Up — Premiere on September 18th
Filming for the new Resident Evil adaptation directed by Zack Cregger ("Barbarian," "Guns") has concluded.
Active production on the film began in October 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic. Footage from the set has revealed that we can expect "large-scale action scenes" on the snow-covered streets of Raccoon City and fast zombies.
The Resident Evil film is scheduled to premiere on September 18, 2026.
The new adaptation promises to capture the atmosphere of Capcom's games and tell an "original and canon-compliant story." The lead role is played by Austin Abrams ("Guns"), and he is joined by Zach Cherry ("Severance"), Jonno Wilson ("Spy Wedding"), and Kali Reis ("True Detective"). The latter is a big fan of the Resident Evil games herself and promises that fans will be pleased with the new adaptation.
