Gaming Boom Despite the Crisis: Sensor Tower Reveals 2025 Figures
Analytical company Sensor Tower has released its annual State of Gaming 2026 report, recording steady growth in the gaming industry despite the challenging situation with layoffs and studio closures.
In 2025, global downloads reached 52 billion copies across all platforms, with 95 thousand titles downloaded every minute on mobile devices alone. However, the revenue of the mobile segment grew modestly — by just 1 percent, stopping at the mark of 82 billion dollars.
The console and PC segment showed much more impressive dynamics: revenues increased by 13 percent, the number of downloads by 7, and the number of new releases by 8.4 percent, driven by the efforts of AA and AAA-class publishers.
The bestseller of the year on consoles and PC was Battlefield 6, with the podium completed by the football simulators EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC 26. In the top free downloads, Skate led the way, followed by Marvel Rivals, Delta Force, and Deadlock. The best indie games of 2025 were recognized as REPO and Peak.
