EA Shuts Down Servers for Failed Anthem
As early as last summer, Electronic Arts announced the shutdown of servers for the failed Anthem on January 12, 2026. Gamers had already taken the opportunity to say their goodbyes to the game in advance, and now the publisher itself has "officially buried" it.
Recall that Anthem has no single-player mode—consequently, it's no longer possible to play it in any form. Unless, of course, fans somehow manage to implement unofficial servers, similar to what was done for Concord.
We should remind you that the failure of the role-playing action game developed by BioWare became one of the loudest in the gaming industry. Jason Schreier, who was still working for Kotaku at the time, dedicated a massive investigation in 2019 to the reasons behind the failure. Former BioWare producer Mark Darrah also released a series of videos on the topic. According to him, the studio and the publisher took a very long time to find common ground, and the final blow to the game was the change in project leadership.
