It is reported that the Battlefield series is preparing for what many have long feared. EA is actively seeking machine learning engineers and generative AI specialists to work as part of the Long Range Technology team and Motive studio. This confirms EA CEO Andrew Wilson's statement that the company plans to make the development process 30% more efficient with the help of neural networks.

According to the job descriptions, the implementation of AI into the Battlefield ecosystem will follow three main directions:

  1. Improving development efficiency: Using generative AI to speed up the creation of game worlds, assets, and animations. Automating routine programming and testing tasks.
  2. Evolution of game mechanics: Creating advanced AI systems for bots and NPCs that can learn from the actions of real players, making enemy behavior more unpredictable. Implementing systems to "personalize" the gaming experience, adjusting the difficulty or content to the style of a particular user.
  3. Improved animation and physics: Use of neural networks for procedural animation (to make fighters' movements look as natural as possible in any situation) and more realistic destruction of the environment.
