Commenting on recent rumors about a new installment in the series with the subtitle Requiem, Kamiya stated that people spreading such leaks "deserve a thousand deaths."
The reason for such a sharp reaction is the disrespect for the developers' work. In Kamiya's opinion (who, by the way, no longer works at Capcom but still cares deeply about the industry), spoilers and premature announcements steal from fans the moment of genuine surprise, and from the creators — the opportunity to present their work as intended. He believes that insiders are motivated solely by a thirst for attention, thereby destroying the magic of the first encounter with a game.
