The developers of Crimson Desert have rolled out an update.
Main fixes and additions:
- Several quest bugs were squashed.
- New fast-travel points were added, plus a warehouse in Ernand's Temporary Sanctuary.
- Time to gain knowledge has been shortened.
- Trees take fewer hits to fell; logging no longer requires precise aiming.
- Items that grant knowledge now show an icon (e.g., clear markers in the inventory).
- Ore deposits and gathering nodes are detected automatically.
- Missing destruction effects on structures have been restored.
- Shooting mini-games and archery contests have had their difficulty dialed down.
Changes in combat:
- Some bosses now have lower HP and reduced attack power.
- Attacks consume less stamina (i.e., stamina drain per hit reduced).
- Various battle-related bugs were fixed.
The devs also touched up graphics, tweaked the UI, improved performance, and made numerous smaller adjustments across the experience.
Crimson Desert launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Reviews were split among journalists and players, yet within a few days it reportedly moved 2 million copies.
A controversy over the use of generative AI followed; the team later admitted using it and said they would address the situation.
