Counter-Strike 2 Players Named Most Toxic Community for Second Year in a Row
Insider and journalist Richard Lewis awarded the 2025 Gonzo Awards anti-prize to the Counter-Strike 2 community for the second consecutive year, calling it "the most annoying." He described it as a noisy collective that derives more pleasure from whining than from playing the game and makes impossible demands on the developers.
Lewis criticized the players' toxic behavior: frequent surrenders in matches, paranoid accusations of cheating, and a complete lack of constructive communication. In his opinion, this makes interacting with the game a nightmare both for the community members themselves and for those around them.
