Counter-Strike 2 Improves Molotovs and Adjusts Nuke

Counter-Strike 2 received another update during the night of January 26-27.

Molotovs and Incendiary Grenades that bounce off an enemy player now have a one-time extension of their detonation timer, eliminating the possibility of a mid-air explosion. Now, grenades will more often detonate on the floor, even if they accidentally hit an opponent.

On the Nuke map, the render boundaries for the hanging helmet model have been adjusted to prevent shadow desynchronization when the model exits the camera's frustum. Also, Warden and Sanctum have been updated to their latest versions from the Community Workshop.

Additionally, a performance issue when launching CS2 without an audio device has been fixed. Alongside this, the sounds of knife hits on different parts of the model have been adjusted.

It is worth recalling that prior to this, Valve released another major update. One of the key changes affected submachine guns:

  • MP7 and MP5-SD: damage increased, price reduced by $100
  • PP-Bizon: price reduced by $100

Anubis map underwent changes: the mid area and bombsite A were reworked. Valve also removed Golden, Palacio, Agency, and Rooftop from the game. They were replaced by Warden, Stronghold, and Alpine (for Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch), and Sanctum and Poseidon (for Wingman). Train has officially left the map pool.
