CD Projekt announced that they have sold the digital store GOG to the platform's co-founder and CDP itself, Michał Kiciński. The deal is valued at nearly 91 million PLN (25.2 million USD).
According to the company, the sale will not affect the store's current mission—to preserve classic games. The library, all access, offline installers, and more will remain available to users. After the transaction is completed, GOG will continue its relationship with CD Projekt to trade both existing and upcoming games from the company.
GOG will maintain its independence. Our goal remains unchanged: we are building a fair, lasting platform that doesn't deceive users and helps indie developers make a name for themselves worldwide. Additionally, we want our community's voice to be louder, and we are preparing new projects for 2026.
From GOG's post
It is claimed that GOG is financially stable, and players are increasingly enthusiastic about the platform's mission.
CD Projekt decided to sell the asset to focus on producing their own games.
