Call of duty veteran talked about the game made by his closed studio

Former Call of Duty producer Jason Blandell dropped a few hints about what he and Dark Outlaw Games were cooking. On a livestream he said he can't share specifics yet, but made a point of calling the project not a service game (e.g., not a live-service title). Blandell believes fans would have liked it — and then, bluntly, Sony pulled the plug on the studio, citing a change in priorities. He isn't retiring; instead he sounded intent on moving forward, even if he won't say what the next project will look like.

Remember: Blandell headed Dark Outlaw Games in March 2025, and it was recently reported that Sony Interactive Entertainment has closed it. There were also reports that the company plans to exit the mobile market.
