Balance of calibers and new prices: Battlestate Games launched a major Tarkov update
Battlestate Games pushed out update 1.0.2.5 for Escape from Tarkov. It's the first step in a broad rework of how weapon modules behave — think adjustments that change feel more than merely numbers on a screen. Some players love the shake-up; others are vocally annoyed. I get both sides.
So far the devs have touched grips, magazines, muzzle devices, and stocks. They're gathering feedback (e.g., forum posts, bug reports) and patching issues as they come — the "Gunsmith" quests have already seen fixes. This phase is mostly surgical: module tweaks before anything more radical.
Next up: barrels and handguards, plus tweaks to base weapon stats. Expect the biggest impact on AKs (7.62x39) and platforms chambered in 7.62x51 and 7.62x54R. Also on the docket are changes to prices and unlock conditions for modules under the new characteristic system — so cost and availability will shift, not just performance.
