Bluepoint Approached Sony with a Bloodborne Remake Idea in Early 2025
Recently, insider Detective Seeds shed light on the details of the closure of Bluepoint Games, also mentioning a Bloodborne remake. According to him, they worked on it for several months, even without Sony's approval, but the project was ultimately shelved.
This information FromSoftware — is not. This leads us back to a comment from former PlayStation Indies head Shuhei Yoshida from around the same time. According to him, the reason for the absence of a remake is the perfectionism of studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki — he supposedly did not want to entrust the creation of a remake to outsiders, while being too busy himself to work on a reimagining. Interestingly, he didn't particularly oppose the development of the Demon's Souls remake by the same Bluepoint.
And in general, it doesn't seem like Miyazaki is interested in any kind of "modernization" of the famous action RPG from 2015. Despite the game's venerable age and constant fan requests, Bloodborne hasn't even received a simple patch for PS5 that would allow playing at 60 frames per second. Fortunately, this can be done using an emulator, and with a number of graphical improvements to boot.
