Battlestate Games Accelerated Raid Loading in Escape from Tarkov
After a long stretch of complaints about sitting through endless loading screens, the team behind Escape from Tarkov say they've cut those waits down. Nikita Buyanov, the studio head, confirmed a set of changes was rolled out — players online are already spotting the difference.
Buyanov listed four focal points the studio worked on: pre-launching rooms so the client isn’t idle before a match, speeding up server-side loading, adjusting matchmaking parameters, and running various “experimental solutions” in tests. In other words, they attacked multiple layers at once rather than a single bottleneck.
On social media, many report raid entry times that often fall under two minutes (vs. the 10-min. queues people saw at peak). Reaction ranges from genuine relief to cautious optimism — streamers are thanking the studio, while some players still keep an eye out for regressions.
PvE remains the quickest option: load times around 30 seconds, and i.e., it doesn’t need a Battlestate server connection. The main game has become far less of a patience test too — whether that sticks is something the community will watch closely.
