Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Authors Reveal More Game Details in Recent Interview
Owlcat Games participated in the New Game+ showcase, where they revealed more details about Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. A 5-minute video featuring clips from an interview with executive producer Anatoly Shestov and the game itself was shown.
In Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, players can expect higher "stakes" when interacting with environments, along with a revamped combat system with a greater emphasis on role-playing elements. These elements will significantly influence dice rolls during battles.
The developers have also removed the mechanic that allowed attacks on enemies despite obstacles. If a player ends their turn behind a wall, they will remain behind the wall without an additional opportunity to "peek out."
Decisions will play a significant role in Dark Heresy's narrative. This particularly pertains to determining the "importance" of tasks that players take on. Shestov gave an example of a location with toxic waste, which could become more dangerous if not addressed promptly.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. The game does not yet have an exact release date.
Last month, developers launched an alpha test. On January 27, Owlcat Games will begin testing their own launcher.
