Assetto Corsa EVO Players Will Get the Freedom to Roam the Eifel Mountain Region
Studio KUNOS Simulazioni has released a trailer for the new Eifel Free Roam mode for the racing simulator Assetto Corsa EVO. The update opens up fundamentally new possibilities for players: now you can leave the confines of the Nürburgring circuit and set out to explore the vast territories of the Eifel mountain region.
The essence of the innovation is the provision of complete freedom of movement. Instead of traditional closed-circuit racing, players are given an open world with moving traffic and pedestrians. The road network organically connects the race track with surrounding locations — cozy German villages, dense forests, and winding mountain roads. Users can freely drive along the established routes, pull into parking lots and gas stations, and leisurely explore the picturesque surroundings at their own pace.
Dynamic day-night cycles and weather conditions add a special atmosphere and realism to the gameplay. These elements are not limited to a decorative function — they tangibly affect the gameplay. Morning fog, precipitation, or nighttime darkness significantly change both the car's behavior on the road and the perception of the surrounding space. Because of this, each trip acquires unique characteristics and differs from previous ones.
Assetto Corsa EVO is built on a completely new game engine, allowing for a high level of simulation. The game features meticulously detailed physics of tire-surface interaction, a realistic weather phenomena model, and tracks recreated using laser scanning technology.
