Among FromSoftware Games, Hidetaka Miyazaki Specifically Highlighted Bloodborne
In a recent interview with Game Informer, the creator of the cult games Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki, lifted the veil on one of the most significant projects for him. The topic was Bloodborne, which the developer called a "special game" and explained why it holds a special place in his heart.
I poured many of my own ideas into this game — be it the story, world-building, or even the gameplay mechanics and systems implemented there. Bloodborne is perhaps the strongest reflection of my type of 'sharpness' in a game that one can experience.
According to Miyazaki, working on Bloodborne was the most difficult development cycle for the studio. But, paradoxically, it was this challenging path that allowed him to most fully realize his own vision in the game.
