Netflix Released the Sci-Fi Action Movie "War Machine"
Netflix has quietly added a new sci-fi action picture to its lineup: "War Machine." Alan Ritchson — the actor many know from Reacher — takes the lead. Viewer reactions lean positive so far; the film sits at approx. 7.1 on IMDb.
At the helm is Patrick Hughes, the same director who made The Hitman's Bodyguard. Familiar territory for noisy set pieces and blunt-force pacing.
The premise is blunt: the final stage of selection for an elite U.S. Army unit. A band of rangers, with an assault engineer in charge, runs headlong into a gargantuan alien war machine — training quickly morphs into a fight to survive. Think rangers vs. monster, close quarters, and not many safe exits.
Also starring: Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow), Jai Courtney (Divergent), Esai Morales (Mission: Impossible), and Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk).
