A renowned Dota 2 coach stated there is a gap in skill level between Malr1ne and the rest.

Renowned Dota 2 Coach Declares a Skill Gap Between Malr1ne and the Rest

Cyberathlete and coach Felipe "Astini" Astini, in his video blog, provided a detailed analysis of the current power balance in the mid lane in modern Dota 2. The specialist concluded that Team Falcons midlaner Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak currently has no equal opponents.

Team Falcons' Dominance

According to Astini, the key advantage of the "Falcons" lies precisely in the individual form of their midlaner. The expert is convinced that no other team can come close to Falcons in this aspect, as Malr1ne occupies the top spot in the world ranking with a colossal lead over pursuers like Nisha, gpk, or bzm.

Who Could Pose a Challenge?

The coach believes the current generation of active players is incapable of closing this gap. Astini suggested that only scene legends — Quinn or Topson — could provide real competition for Potorak, but only under the condition of their return to professional esports. Without their participation, the distance between the Falcons leader and the rest of the world will remain vast.

Assessment of Other Players

Analyzing the closest pursuers, Felipe noted that only Danil "gpk" Skutin has theoretical chances of getting closer to the leader. At the same time, the coach does not believe in the motivation of Michał "Nisha" Jankowski: according to him, the Pole has already won all the major titles and is unlikely to exhaust himself with training to reduce the gap.

Earlier, the coach of the Natus Vincere roster compared his experience leading a Russian-speaking roster with the results of his Brazilian colleague Astini. The specialist discussed the difficulties and specifics of working in different esports ecosystems.

Recently, Felipe Astini spoke out in defense of veterans of Brazilian esports who faced criticism. The mentor named the global pandemic as the key factor that led to the decline of the regional scene and hindered the development of local talents.
