Closed Beta Testing for Starfinder: Afterlight Launches at the End of the Month
Employees of the independent Spanish studio Epictellers Entertainment announced that closed beta testing for Starfinder: Afterlight — the first computer role-playing game based on the Starfinder tabletop RPG — will begin on February 25th. Access to the beta version will only be granted to backers on Kickstarter who supported the developers during the fundraising campaign.
Don't expect anything too grand in scale, as the beta will offer only about 45 minutes of content from the first act, including:
- Three pre-made protagonists;
- Two companions, one of whom is voiced by Neil Newbon (Astarion from Baldur's Gate III);
- Full voice acting for all branching dialogues.
- Turn-based combat.
- An inventory system.
Starfinder: Afterlight is planned for release in Early Access on Steam in the second quarter of this year (i.e., from April to June). Russian is listed among the supported languages. At launch, the game will offer the first act with 10-15 hours of gameplay, while the full version is estimated to provide 40-60 hours.
